We reviewed our classroom mission statement that our group brainstormed together. It sounds great! We are hoping to work hard to commit to our ideas!
Our Classroom Mission Statement
September 2017 – June 2018
Grade 5
In our classroom, we will strive to be HAPPY learners.
We will respect one another by SHARING IDEAS, being good LISTENERS, being AWARE OF OUR CLASSMATES and being FRIENDLY.
We will FOCUS when we learn, make quiet TRANSITIONS, RAISE OUR HANDS so everyone can be heard and be POSITIVE.
We will work our hardest to show our best CHARACTER. We will ASK QUESTIONS. We will COLLABORATE. We will NEVER GIVE UP.
When times are tough or we need a break, we will “breathe in the happy.”
We will be COURAGEOUS!
*We had our first art lessons with our artist in residence this morning. Our theme was "I Am Creative." Students explored their creativity and created color wheels by mixing plasticine.
*Students have started learning about the Wetlands in Science.
*Thank you to parents who have returned all forms thus far!
*Great books for sale in the Learning Commons!
We will be hosting a Scholastic book fair September 21&22 during Meet the Teacher. Students will have an opportunity to view the books during the week. Notices and fliers will be coming home soon.
