This week has been flying by!
We spent the morning finishing up our Canada Maps (which are due no later than tomorrow).
We also discussed the first chapter of our "Number the Stars" read aloud. Comprehension questions are due tomorrow. Remember to fulfill all assignment expectations, including answering in full sentence answers. To develop our reading skills, we are working on answering literal questions (from the text), inferential questions (using context clues) and opinion questions.
We read a few pages from a book entitled, "Dreams of Freedom." This led to an inspiring conversation from a quote in the book ~ "I don't mind if I have to sit on the floor at school. All I want is education and I am afraid of no one." Malala Yousafzai
This led to a discussion about what freedoms we would hope for others in the world, which included freedom from poverty, homelessness, and the freedom to have an education. We are definitely an involved group!
Reminder:
*Remember to order Fun Lunch by tomorrow!
