Parents/Students - it seems that some of us are having some difficulty with the blog. We have heard from some parents that the refresh button is not always working. If this is the case, please trying closing out of the blog and re-entering if the blog is not up! Thank you!
We spent the morning discussing digital citizenship and our school computers. This was the first time our class logged into google docs using our student email and passwords. Students now have access to their accounts and can access google docs at home. This helps us if students start an assignment on the computer and need more completion time at home. We have not gone over all features of google docs or student email but we did discuss expectations for computer usage. Parents, please note computers are for school work only. We have discussed consequences with the class if computers are not used appropriately,
Our class is preparing for WE DAY. Sixteen of our Grade 6 students will be chosen to attend We Day. Part of this process is writing a persuasive letter to their teacher discussing reasons they feel they are good candidates to attend We Day. Grade 5 students are also reflecting on this and writing letters why they believe they will be good candidates next year! This is definitely a difficult process and we would love to be able to take all of the Grade 6 students to We Day. So far, we have worked on organizing our thoughts using a persuasive template. Tomorrow we will begin to write our letters!
We finished watching our environmental documentary, REVOLUTION, this week. We wrote "tweets" today that sent out messages about the film. Some of our tweets were #letsgetplanting #savetheearth #startnow #dosomething #therevolutionneedstobegin #gasmasksarethenewnormal #letsdosomething #stopglobalwarming #walktoschool #plantmoretrees #solarpower #savetheoceans
