This morning, we went over our Capitalization homework and completed a self-reflection on what we learned about capitalization from this assignment. We continue to work on reading comprehension strategies modeled through our shared reading of "Trapped In Ice." We identified foreshadowing in our book today and know that foreshadowing are hints or clues of something "exciting" about to happen! We used visual clues and background knowledge to attempt to identify famous Canadian landmarks and historic sites. We will continue to work on this tomorrow! We practiced descriptive word choices (juicy words) when using sensory imagery to add detail to our writing. Our students also acknowledged that similes are useful in creating visual images in our "reader's heads."
