*Donations for Fort McMurray: On Wednesday and Thursday, we are collecting donations for Fort McMurray. In exchange for the $1 donation, students will receive a raffle ticket The raffle ticket goes towards a special "date" spent with one of our teachers. A school email with detailed information will be sent to families.
*Social Studies: We learned about stories of the Loyalists today and how some Loyalists moved North who wished to remain loyal to the British king. They were offered free land, but lived the first winter in tents. The free land came on the condition that they would build a house and farm on the land. We also learned about the Black Loyalists and how the follow through on promises for free land was not equal. Students are working on creating a stamp representing their understanding of the Loyalists.
