**Patrol Picnic Information (also emailed to Parents)**
Tomorrow is the Patrol Picnic at Heritage Park. Here are a few details to remember.
We will be leaving the school by Southland Transportation charter bus at 9:00 AM and on the return trip will be leaving Heritage Park at 2:15 PM. The ceremony will be held from 11:45 – 12:30 PM. Lunch will be provided and consists of a hot dog, chips, drink and a frozen treat. There is no cost for this. Students may bring a small amount of spending money for places such as the bakery or candy store or for ride tickets if they wish.
Students will be organized into groups and will be instructed to stay within visual range of the parent volunteer or teacher in charge of their group at all times. Water areas are off limits for wading, swimming, splashing and skipping rocks. Patrollers may not place any items, such as coins, on the train tracks, and must use caution at all train crossings. The students will be outdoors for the majority of the day so it is important that they are prepared for all types of weather. There will be a designated meeting spot for Prince of Wales students where we will eat lunch together.
Students will arrive back at Prince of Wales around 2:30 PM.
In case of an unforeseen illness or behavioural issues, parents/guardians will be requested to pick up their child at the site.
Heritage Park is located at 1900 Heritage Drive SW.
In their backpacks, students will need:
- Water bottle full of water
- Sunscreen if not applied at home before school
- Sun hat
- Rain jacket
- Spending money (not obligatory)
