We spent a little time this morning finishing up our edited copies for our persuasive writing. There is no longer a guarantee of class time for this, so please ensure the edited copies are completed by Friday. We reviewed the setting for Number the Stars and wrote a descriptive paragraph. We also read the first chapter, "Why Are You Running?" Ask us about what happened! Our focus this month in phys. ed is gymnastics. We wrote the first part of our woodwind music test today.
Reminders:
*Young Writer's forms are being sent home today. If you are interested, these are time sensitive. Mrs.Pallesen will accept students on a first come first serve basis. In the morning, please bring these forms directly to her, in her room located in the office.
*The second part of the woodwind music quiz is Thursday afternoon. Please see Mrs.Dennill's blog for information and to help study.
*Gymnastics: Please ensure you are dressed appropriately for gymnastics. No baggy clothing, jewelry, etc. Also, please ensure long hair is tied back.
*SS homework: We watched an aerial view of Canada video over the passed week. While viewing, students recorded notes and used these notes to draw conclusions and write summaries of each region. Most of us completed these during class time, but please ensure you have read over your summaries, and completed each one. These are due Thursday. You can use the information from yesterday's lesson (matching the region to the description) to assist with this as well in case you need more information or you were absent.
*Homophone quiz on Friday. We have mentioned this twice in class. Please review the homophones on the worksheets in your LA folder and be familiar with their meanings and spellings.
*Please book your teacher conferences online for next Thursday evening/ Friday morning.
*Fun Lunch is tomorrow
*We are still waiting for a few report card ENVELOPES to be returned to school. Thank you.
*Please note that there will be a substitute teacher tomorrow. Ms. Hammond and Mrs.Warrener will be working in the school but not in the classroom.
